65th Anniversary Celebration

February 28 to December 31, 2026

Six Flags Over Texas, the original Six Flags park, celebrates its 65th anniversary throughout the 2026 season. Opened in 1961, Six Flags Over Texas is a pioneer in theme park innovation. Six Flags Over Texas was the first to introduce pay-one-price admission tickets and Broadway-style entertainment offerings at a theme park. The park is home to Runaway Mine Train, the world’s first mine train coaster, El Aserradero, the first-ever log flume ride, and the world’s first hybrid roller coaster, New Texas Giant. Past park icons include Wildcatter, Intamin’s first freefall ride, and Texas Chute Out, the first-ever modern parachute drop ride. In 2026, Six Flags Over Texas introduces Tormenta Rampaging Run, a massive dive coaster that breaks six world records.
