Rider Experience
Batman: The Ride remains a popular staple amongst park-goers. Installed at the initiation of the park’s Gotham City area, the roller coaster features a heavily themed queue, referred to as the interior of the Wayne Foundation. Once boarded, the ride’s station floor retracts and the inverted train travels up the lift hill. Batman: The Ride then sends its riders down a 190-degree swoop through five inversions at speeds of up to fifty miles per hour.
Batman: The Ride is located in the park’s Gotham City area.
The main entrance portal to Batman: The Ride is themed to Gotham City Park.
Each row on Batman: The Ride holds up to four riders.
The Clones of Batman
Batman: The Ride was one of the the first major roller coasters to begin the era of ride "cloning.” This refers to the act of various theme parks all purchasing and installing the same roller coaster layout. Six other Six Flags parks share the same ride design, including Great America, Magic Mountain, Great Adventure, St. Louis, Over Georgia and Fiesta Texas (mirrored). Three of these layouts exist within just hours of each other in the state of Texas at Six Flags Over Texas, Fiesta Texas and SeaWorld San Antonio.
Batman Runs Backwards
In 2014, Six Flags Over Texas announced that Batman: The Ride would operate backwards as part of the coaster's 15th anniversary celebration at the park. Six Flags Over Texas did not have special trains for the occasion nor did they flip the existing trains backwards. The Six Flags chain had a set of touring backwards trains that made their way to a number of the parks. In the summer of 2014, the trains made their way to Six Flags Over Texas for a short stay and allowed guests to enjoy the ride in backwards fashion.
