A Former Boomtown Tenant
Prior to Mini Mine Train’s existence, this area of Boomtown was occupied by an attraction called Sky Hook. This former attraction, which existed between 1963 and 1968, was a sky crane modified by Von Roll and stood 155 feet tall. Sky Hook featured two baskets on each side of the crane in which guests would travel into the sky for an overhead view of Six Flags Over Texas. After 1968, the attraction was sent to Six Flags Over Georgia where it operated until 1977.
Mini Mine Train was created to be a tamer version of the Runaway Mine Train experience.
Mini Mine Train reaches a max speed of 14 miles per hour.
Mini Mine Train is located in the park’s Boomtown section.

Make Room for Mr. Freeze
In 1997, Six Flags Over Texas added the high-thrill Mr. Freeze attraction to their arsenal of roller coasters. In order to make the fit, Mini Mine Train was reprofiled. When taking future rides on the classic children’s coaster, pay attention to the close proximity of Mr. Freeze’s track, supports and station building, especially around Mini Mine Train’s lift hill and tunnels.
