A late December visit to Six Flags Over Texas shows the rapid progress being made on the demolition of the La Vibora bobsled roller coaster. The last of its kind, La Vibora had operated at the park since 1986. Its removal is part of new investment, which is highlighted by a record-breaking dive coaster to open in 2026. We also check out how other rides are affected by the demolition, including the Six Flags Railroad.

Holiday in the Park has returned to Six Flags Over Texas now through December 31. This year's event features nearly a dozen new entertainment offerings, including FROST in Southern Palace Theatre and Holly Jolly Trolley. Family activities feature visits and photos with Santa Claus, the new North Pole Post Office and interactions with Mrs. Claus. For older guests, brave the Krampus in Paradise haunted house and enjoy an adult beverage in the reimagined Merry Marketplace.

Kids Boo Fest returns to Six Flags Over Texas for another season of family-friendly, daytime Halloween fun. This year's event includes the return of several interactive activities, including scream and costume contests. Kids Boo Fest visitors can also trek down the expansive trick or treat trail, enjoy daily foam parties in Bugs Bunny Boomtown and catch the Looney Tunes Halloween dance party at Silver Star Carousel Stage.

The merger between Six Flags and Cedar Fair took place just over two months ago and we've seen lots of changes so far, including Cedar Fair management taking over operations, updated season pass structures and new job postings for high-level positions at select parks. After visiting most Cedar Fair legacy parks over the last five years, it is clear that many crucial improvements can come to Six Flags Over Texas without the investment of multi-million dollar rides and attractions. Heres's our wish list of the top three changes we'd like to see implemented to the park.

Six Flags is excited to announce that the All Park Passport add-on will offer access to more parks starting in 2025. The All Park Passport is an add-on that allows you to access additional legacy Six Flags and Cedar Fair parks with select 2025 Season Passes.

Six Flags Over Texas and its sister park Six Flags New England, located in Agawam, Massachusetts, have set a friendly wager for the upcoming NBA Finals series kicking off on Thursday, June 6. Six Flags Over Texas will, of course, be cheering on their beloved Mavericks, while Six Flags New England supports the Boston Celtics.

Six Flags Over Texas has begun their summertime operations, opening daily until they close on Tuesdays beginning later in the month. Summer at the park looks a little different with a lack of events and no entertainment offerings during weekdays. Food prices, along with a surcharge, continue to increase while quality suffers.

In 2024, Hurricane Harbor Arlington celebrates its 40th anniversary. Originally a Wet 'n Wild water park, Six Flags purchased the property in 1995. Today, Hurricane Harbor features over twenty water slides and attractions, which span from kid-friendly to the ultimate thrill. April 8, 2024 saw Six Flags Over Texas become a unique place to catch the total solar eclipse with rides, viewing areas and a fireworks display. The park is also continuing construction on their two new children's attractions: Sylvester & Tweety Pounce and Bounce and Daffy Duck Bucket Blasters. Six Flags Over Texas is also working on other projects as well, including EV chargers in the parking lot.

Scream Break returns to Six Flags Over Texas from March 9 to 16, this time with a completely new theme. Attendees can experience the return of Casa Magnetica as the Lōkahi Welcome Center, the all-new Curse of the Polynesian Palm haunted house, multiple live entertainment offerings, specialty characters and a wide selection of adult beverages from themed bars. Six Flags Over Texas, the Thrill Capital of Texas, today announced the park’s lineup of thrilling spring events, featuring live performances by local musicians, a vintage-inspired haunt, a rare total solar eclipse, a major milestone for a classic ride, and a celebration of Latin American culture.

Six Flags Over Texas, the Thrill Capital of Texas, today announced new park enhancements for the 2024 season. One new ride, Sylvester and Tweety Pounce and Bounce, and one returning ride, Daffy Duck Bucket Blasters, will be coming to the Bugs Bunny Boomtown section of the park Memorial Day weekend. A retheming of the classic Chaparral Antique Cars into Dino Off Road Adventure will follow later in the summer.

Six Flags Over Texas recently filed a project with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation that includes $2 million worth of upgrades for their Bugs Bunny Boomtown area. The scope of work described is for new paving and foundations for two new rides in the Bugs Bunny Boomtown section of the park.

Though Holiday in the Park is in full swing at Six Flags Over Texas, the park is also working diligently on ride refurbishments and projects. This December 2023 update takes a look at current expected ride closures around the park, along with a look at a ride removal and other small changes coming up for 2024.

Though Six Flags Over Texas has not made an official announcement (and may not), the new 2024 El Rio Lento project appears to be quietly cancelled. Six Flags Over Texas is set to unveil El Rio Lento, one of the world’s longest log flumes. A makeover of the world’s first-ever log ride, El Aserradero, El Rio Lento will feature one new lift hill and two big drops, including a steep nosedive.

Fright Fest takes place at Six Flags Over Texas now through October 31. Join us for a behind-the-scenes tour of the iconic Piggy's Blood Shed haunt, along with a full POV of the house in action. Introduced in 2012, come into Piggy's restaurant for a home-cooked meal only to realize you are the prime entree to be served on the restaurant menu! Kids Boo Fest, Six Flags Over Texas' family-friendly Halloween celebration, takes place on Saturdays and Sundays through October 29. The event features costume contests, the Crazy Hay Maze, a trick-or-treat trail, Looney Tunes dance parties and more. We also take a daytime tour of all seven of the park's Fright Fest scare zones.
