Three Eli Bridge Scramblers

Sidewinder is the third Eli Bridge Scrambler that Six Flags Over Texas has featured in their arsenal of flat rides. Six Flags Over Texas’ first Eli Bridge Scrambler was located in the USA park area from 1961 to 1977 as Missile Chaser (seen near the top left of the image above). The second reincarnation of the ride, also named Missile Chaser, sat in the current Superman: Tower of Power location from 2000 to 2002. This model would be removed and sent to Magic Mountain after the 2002 season.

In 2006, as part of the park's 45th anniversary, Sidewinder was installed near Titan. The third version of this attraction came from the defunct AstroWorld theme park in Houston, Texas. Sidewinder was one of ten new attractions installed for the 2006 season.

Pro Tip: Larger guests should ride on the outside of the car as Sidewinder’s forces push riders outward.

Sidewinder was introduced in 2006 for the park’s 45th anniversary celebration.

Sidewinder is located in the park’s Texas section.
