A Theatre’s Removal

Lone Star Theatre was demolished and removed from the park in May of 2019. Though the venue would feature a variety of live entertainment and films throughout the 2000s, public use of Lone Star Theatre ceased in the mid-2010s. The last production featured inside Lone Star Theatre was Deck the Halls during Holiday in the Park in 2014.

Lone Star Theatre was an indoor performance venue located in the park’s Texas section.

Lone Star Theatre featured live entertainment through the 2014 season.

Lone Star Theatre hosted Kathy Burk’s World of Puppets in the mid-2000s.

Cinesphere Chevy Show

From 1969 to 1984, Chevrolet had a feature at Six Flags Over Texas called the Cinesphere Chevy Show. This advanced technology gave guests an IMAX-type of experience with a film presentation on a 180-degree curved screen. While outside, guests could view current cars from the Chevrolet line-up. Once the Chevy Show was retired, the venue became the Cinema 180 Theater and featured Cinesphere-style shows for the next handful of seasons. In 1991, the performance venue was renamed Lone Star Theatre.
